After completing his college degree in accounting and business administration at Cairo University in 1977, İsmail Demirel founded the Dimpex Import and Export Marketing Company in 1981.
During the same period, he began working in challenging positions with American and Italian companies. Later, he resigned from his positions and decided to start his own business.
In 1980, İsmail Demirel worked as a shopkeeper in Nuruosmaniye for a time and from that time on, he developed a love for carpets as an art and culture dealer.
Now, under the brand name Magic Carpet Istanbul 1981, he offers carpets and artwork from a wide range of collections to his valued customers, featuring a wide selection of carpets, various silk and wool varieties, and antique works of art.
